It has been just under three months since Ellen Page revealed she is gay at a Las Vegas LBGT conference called 'Time to THRIVE'.

This past Valentine's Day the 27 year-old actress announced, "I'm here today because I'm gay, and because maybe I can make a difference - to help others have an easier and more hopeful time."

Page is now opening up about that experience and how the world responded to her coming out, while speaking in Flare Magazine's June issue, which she features on the font cover of.

During the 8-minute speech at the LBGT conference, Ellen admits to the magazine that she was "very, very nervous." Adding, "Yes. I was emotional, deeply, deeply emotional."

"You think you're in a place where you're all 'I'm thrilled to be gay, I have no issues about being gay anymore, I don't feel shame about being gay,' but you actually do," she elaborated. "You're just not fully aware of it."

Although she only came out earlier this year Ellen's family had known for quite some time already, the 'Juno' actress explained to Flare that she told her parents about her sexuality almost 8 years prior to the speech, at the age of 19.

"I think I still felt scared about people knowing," she added. "I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself."
