Ellie Goulding is releasing this year's Children In Need song.

The 'Burn' hitmaker's cover of folk-rock band The Waterboys' 'How Long Will I Love You' has been selected as the official charity single for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.

The star's version of the 1990 single already features on her deluxe album reissue 'Halcyon Days', as well as the soundtrack to Richard Curtis' new film 'About Time'.

Ellie said in a statement: ''I've grown up watching BBC Children in Need so it's fantastic that I'm doing this year's single! It is an emotional song, but in a really positive way, and I've been completely blown away with the positive reaction it's had already.''

The track will be released on November 10, with at least 20p from each digital download going towards the charity for disadvantaged children, as well as from sales of the song in album format.

The singer will support the track with a live performance on the BBC's 'Children in Need Appeal Show' telethon, which airs on BBC One on Friday November 15.

Ellie follows in the footsteps of Girls Aloud, who supported the appeal in 2012 with the release of their comeback single, 'Something New'.
