Ellie Goulding and McFly’s Dougie Poynter have reportedly called time on their relationship once again. The couple, who have been together for two years, did split briefly back in December before reuniting, but it seems the romance is off again.

According to The Mirror, the couple have been spending increasing amounts of time apart in recent months, as Dougie makes a bid to crack Hollywood. A source told the newspaper: "They are finding it hard to spend time together as Ellie’s music career takes her all over the world and she is pulled in different directions.”

"Dougie is trying to make it in America as an actor and they are drifting apart.” The news comes just weeks after Ellie sparked marriage rumours when she posed wearing a wedding dress in an Instagram video. But trying to make sure no one read too much into it, she did caption the video, ‘Girl in wedding dress but not getting married alert.’

Earlier this month Ellie opened up to Red magazine about the beginning of her relationship with the McFly singer. “When I met Dougie, he had no game. He was just like, ‘You’re really cool, let’s go out.’ It was me that pursued him, very unexpectedly,” she told the mag.

“Before him, I was having a single period and hating all men, saying never again, after a series of things that happened to me. I thought I was going to be single for a long while. But then I met him and was like, ‘uh-oh, game over.’ He was just so nice. So, you know, you don’t throw something like that away so easily.”
