The singer will be back later on in 2013
A case of appendicitis has lead to Elton John postponing some of his tour dates, it was revealed on his website. The busy singer, who “regularly performs in excess of 120 concerts per year”, was due to play the Collisioni festival in Italy on Tuesday, and a headline gig at London's Hyde Park on Friday.
We'd like to wish Sir Elton a speedy recovery
“The multi-award-winning artist had called in doctors after falling ill during his recent European tour. Following a number of exploratory scans and blood tests with his medical team in the UK, a diagnosis of appendix abscess surrounding retrocaecal appendicitis has been confirmed,” said the statement. According to AEG Live, the Hyde Park show will still go ahead with Elvis Costello and former Kinks frontman Ray Davies on the bill, but full refunds will be offered.

"Elton is incredibly disappointed to postpone these tour dates," said the post on John’s site. "To know that he made such super-human efforts and continued to perform to thousands through his illness only confirms his dedication to his European fans.” Festivals in Spain, France and Monaco are among the cancelled dates, as they can not be rearranged.
John's illness will leave many fans upset
John will be back in the UK in September, to perform at the First Direct Arena in Leeds and at Bestival. He’ll then head to Las Vegas for a month-long residency at The Colosseum. "He is eager to be back on top form and return to play the remaining shows starting in early September 2013."
