Sir Elton John has been urged to rest by doctors, following his hospitalization in Los Angeles this week. The 65-year-old underwent a series of tests after suffering respiratory problems and was forced to cancel numerous live dates in Las Vegas.
It appears as though Sir Elton is already ready to rock again, and told Tmz.com that it felt "strange" not being on stage, however, he promised he would be back soon. It's likely that the musician will return to play the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert in London on June 4, 2012, organised by Gary Barlow and also featuring Sir Tom Jones, Ed Sheeran and Jessie J. He recently announced that he had signed a book deal to publish the "very personal story" of how Aids affected his life. The book, titled 'Love is the Cure: Ending the Global Aids Epidemic', will include memories of his friends, including Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who died of an Aids related illness in 1991. Elton and his partner David Furnish became parents to a son, Zachary, via a surrogate mother in 2010.
The musician has cancelled four Las Vegas shows for this coming weekend. He is currently performing his Million Dollar Piano at the Caesars Palace.
