Sir Elton John brought his son Zachary to his Oscars party - but wouldn't let him stay too late.

The 'Rocket Man' singer and his husband David Furnish showed off their adorable two year old to the many celebrity guests who attended his 21st Annual Academy Awards Viewing party held to raise money for his charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Zachary - who was dressed to impress in a black tuxedo, bow tie and white trainers - was given a cuddle by U2 frontman Bono, who gave the youngster a high-five as he was cradled by David.

While their newborn son Elijah stayed at home with babysitters, the couple insisted their eldest son would be in bed at a reasonable time while they carried on partying.

Speaking from the event, David said: ''We'll make sure they get home in time for their regular bath time, and story time with the nanny. Then we'll see them tomorrow morning, when we get back.''

Other famous names at the bash included pregnant reality star Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney, who were spotted talking to Miley Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne throughout the evening.

Elton was also snapped laughing with controversial rapper Chris Brown - who is dating Rihanna - and Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler.

Before the lavish party, the stars gathered at the Governors Ball at the Ray Dolby Ballroom, West Hollywood, to begin the evening's celebrations.

Singing sensation Adele, who picked up Best Song for her James Bond track 'Skyfall' at the event, mingled with the likes of fellow 007 singer Dame Shirley Bassey and Hollywood legend Barbra Streisand after all three of them had performed during the ceremony.

Supermodels Naomi Campbell, who looked sensational in a floor-length black gown and Heidi Klum, who turned heads in a low cut gold dress, shared a quick kiss as they greeted one another.
