'Game Of Thrones' Cast Comment On Increased Workload During Season 7

Emilia Clarke Peter Dinklage

There's no denying the incredible cultural impact HBO fantasy series 'Game Of Thrones' has had over the six seasons that have aired to-date. Based on the incomplete novel series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R. R. Martin, the show tells the story of a group of self-proclaimed leaders of various sections in the fictional land of Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms (and beyond), all vying for control of the entire nation and the Iron Throne that resides in King's Landing.

Game Of Thrones Recap: It's Over. Time For A Headcount

Kit Harington Charles Dance Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Lena Headey Maisie Williams Emilia Clarke

Let’s talk about the best Game of Thrones finale in the show’s history. Unless you haven’t seen it yet, in which case be warned – EVERYTHING BELOW THIS IS SPOILERS.

Valar Morghulis and as it turned out, some women. The show’s motto proved true again last night, as the writers broke tradition and actually gave us some crucial plot twists in the season wrapup.

The episode opened with Jon Snow north of the wall and trying to negotiate a truce with Mance Rayder, aka the king of the Free Folk. Save for a few bruises to Jon’s ego, the whole thing seemed to be going pretty well. That is, until Stannis and his sizeable army came in for the most boring invasion ever, in classic Stannis style. The whole truce thing went down the drain, but it’s ok because it turns out that Stannis has no beef with the crows whatsoever. He doesn’t even have any beef with Mance, after Jon vouched for him. Isn’t it great when everyone’s being all honorable?

"Game Of Thrones" Season Finale Preview: Did It Just Get Emotional In Here? [Video]

Charles Dance Lena Headey Maisie Williams Kit Harington Emilia Clarke

With the biggest and best Game of Thrones season finale so far (according to the writers) just a day away, HBO have released a sneak preview of the carnage to come (beware of spoilers for the previous three episodes). The clip is just 35 seconds long, but it does give a glimpse of the relevant storylines. In flashes, we see Bran and his band of misfits arrive at the heart tree, which they’ve been traveling to all season. Will we get to see Bran go full-on warg and finally control his power? And what’s the Reeds’ role in all of this? As Bran’s protectors/guides to the spirit world, they will probably get to shine at the end of this journey.

Watch the preview below.

Meanwhile, in King’s Landing, Cercei appears to be having a very bitter heart-to-heart with The World’s Worst Dad, Tywin Lannister. It looks like he’ll finally have to face the whole incest issue and the fact that his family is generally falling apart.

Brace Yourselves For The "Game Of Thrones" Season Finale - The Writers Are Finishing Strong This Year

Peter Dinklage Emilia Clarke Maisie Williams

The fourth season of Game of Thrones has ignited a lot of controversy, which on a show all about sex, murder and little bit of politics, is really saying something. With the season finale coming next week, fans who are already caught up on the books can just sit back and watch the rest of us fry as we wait for the mindblowing (or completely anti-climactic) final episode to unfold. After all, the showrunners have been known to fire off all their plot twists pre-finale before. Take The-Event-That-Must-Not-Be-Named of season 3 for example.

Tyrion's life is at stake for the finale.

Fortunately, the folks behind Thrones are promising a much more thrilling conclusion to season 4. According to Entertainment Weekly, next week’s episode will break the narrative pattern, set by previous season – big shocking event in the ninth episode, and then a quieter wrap-up in the finale.

In the game of thrones you win or you die. Well, HBO’s newest hit series is winning everything these days. Game of Thrones has been crowned HBO’s most popular show ever, topping even the once untouchable Sopranos. "Game Of Thrones" Episode 3 Recap: Whodunit? Who Cares?

Emilia Clarke Lena Headey Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Peter Dinklage Maisie Williams Sophie Turner

Before talking about this week’s Game of Thrones, we should probably dish out the warnings with a heavy hand. Beware of ALL THE SPOILERS for Season 4 Episode 3 Breaker of Chains. Also, this should go without saying, but all the trigger warnings: sexual assault, violence and various very graphic murders. Now that that’s out of the way…

Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
Looks like Tyrion is about to reach the end of the line. We're betting on a plot twist though...

This episode sets up like a classic whodunit. With Joffrey dead (good riddance, although Jack Gleeson’s acting will be missed), Lord Tywin is trying to prepare little Tommen for his new role as king. The boy wants to be a “good king”, which would be admirable, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s like 12. Cercei, meanwhile, is only concerned with who killed her son. Well, she’s also concerned with getting revenge on Tyrion, whom she thinks is the killer, finding Sansa (who escaped during the commotion caused by Joff’s death) and just a bit of incest next to Joff’s body, but that’s just standard Westeros fare at this point.

"Game Of Thrones" Premiere Leads To The Great HBO Go Crash Of 2014

Kit Harington Lena Headey Emilia Clarke Peter Dinklage

Last night’s premiere of Game of Thrones might not count as a perfect success for HBO, but it definitely says something about a show, when the demand is so heavy that it crashes HBO Go’s servers. Heads up, for any Thrones fans, who are still behind on the premiere, don’t worry: you won’t find any spoilers ahead. According to TIME magazine, plenty of fans, stealing their parents’ HBO Go passwords, are yet to catch up after being left hanging by the dreaded Fatal Error message that Go presented on Sunday night in lieu of a Thrones episode. This is a repeat of the situation from a month ago, when Go crashed during the True Detective season finale. At least the person manning the HBO twitter was having fun with the whole debacle.

America, Are You Ready For 'Dom Hemingway' And A Chubby, Naked Jude Law?

Jude Law Richard E. Grant Emilia Clarke

In American memories of Jude Law are mainly fond. His inconsistent and often wooden performances just come across as English charm, while his good looks formed the base for a staggering career. But you can forget all that for Dom Hemingway, with the British actor piling on over 30 pounds to play the coked-up, larger than life safecracker.

Dom HemingwayThat's Jude Law's fanny

Question is: is America ready for a fat, ugly and naked Jude Law? The story sees Hemingway imprisoned for 12 years. Upon release, and feeling a sense of debt, the ex-con (less of the ex) decides to reclaim what is his for spending over a decade behind bars and keeping silent, so goes the code.

US audiences will finally be able to clap eyes on the gritty British flick, Dom Hemingway, which stars Jude Law. The Richard Shepard-directed film sees the Alfie actor out of his comfort zone in this darkly funny crime drama, which hit cinemas in the UK last year. The usually smartly groomed and well-spoken English actor adopts an aggressive Cockney accent and a threatening swagger to play the titular hedonist and safe-cracker.

He reteams with his former partner Dickie, played by Richard E. Grant, who has agreed to assist him in tracking down the money owed to him by his former boss Mr. Fontaine (Demian Bicher). Fontaine offers Dom a paltry sum in return for his silence, which is quickly drained after just one booze-fuelled bender.

"[email protected]": 'Game Of Thrones' Cast Create Character Email Addresses

Emilia Clarke Finn Jones Carice Van Houten Hannah Murray

The lucky BuzzFeed team were at the season four premiere event for Game of Thrones, and managed to ask the cast some rather personal, but also hilarious questions. BuzzFeed asked the cast members they managed to flag down what email addresses they think that their characters would have, as well as which mythological creature they would take into battle with them.  They didn't get the chance to ask Emilia this question, but we have a sneaking suspicion we know the answer to that one anyway!

First up was Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke. Emilia’s email answer was probably our favourite, responding that Dany’s would probably be “[email protected]”. Sounds pretty spot on to us, especially after watching the most recent trailer, which sees her character determinedly claim “I will answer injustice with justice.” We can’t wait to see the Khalessi bring it in season four!

Are you a ‘Game of Thrones’ addict? Well if you are you’re in pretty good company. The hit show has spawned legions of fans and among them are more than a few famous faces, all of whom are very eager to share their obsession with the show.

At the weekend Madonna celebrated Jewish holiday, Purim, by dressing up as Emilia Clarke's character Daenerys Targaryen. The singer posted a picture of herself on Instagram in a blonde wig and brown buckled corset with the caption ‘"Happy Purim!!!!! The Women Of 'Game Of Thrones': Who Wins, Who Dies, Who Gets It On In Season 4?

Lena Headey Emilia Clarke Maisie Williams Sophie Turner Natalie Dormer

Let’s talk Game of Thrones. After the second Season 4 trailer, aptly titled Vengeance, was released, the internet – to put it mildly – went nuts. Because no one will be able to stop talking about GoT until April, let’s go into some details. Namely – what’s happening to the ladies in Thrones this season? The women on this show have been particularly disadvantaged from the start, presumably because the action is set in a magical, mystical equivalent of the middle ages. This season Cercei, Daenerys, Arya, Sansa and the rest of them won’t suffer any fools, by the looks of it.

Maisie Williams, Screen Actors Guild Awards After-Party
Maisie Williams (Arya) - your favorite little sociopath wants revenge.

The trailer begins with Arya (Maisie Williams) saying “I can’t sleep until I say the names... the ones I’m going to kill.” You already know some serious vengeance is about to go down. Although in the trailer, we mostly see her wondering around aimlessly after the death of her mother and brother, so maybe our favorite little murderer isn’t ready to begin her reign of terror yet.

Kit Harington Sean Bean Emilia Clarke Bryan Cranston Vince Gilligan Andrew Lincoln

Game of Thrones is officially the most illegally downloaded series once again, as the hit HBO drama was named the most pirated television series of 2013 by piracy site TorrentFreak. Taking into account the amount of downloads amassed through BitTorrent over the past twelve months, the television adaption of George RR. With 5.9 million downloads via BitTorrent alone, that means that season three of the hit series was watched illegally more times than it was through legal means. The season garnered an average of 5.5 million viewers in the US legally, with most illegal downloads coming in the first week after the show initially aired on HBO, taking the overall tally of the show's illegal viewers past the legal tally. The poll does not take into account downloads from other torrent sites, such as The Pirate Bay or Kickass Torrents, which probably means that the overall figure for illegally downloaded episode is even higher than the report states.

Dom Hemingway Review

OK

Definitely a film of two halves, this crime comedy kicks off with a spark of witty energy as the title character blusters his way through a series of events with hilariously profane rants. Then the plot kicks in. And from here on, it's a dull slog as we lose all interest in what happens next. It's well-played and stylishly directed, but it feels pointless.

We meet Dom Hemingway (Law) just before he gets out of prison after serving 12 years for refusing to rat out his boss Ivan (Bichir), a Russian mobster now living the high life on the French Riviera. So Dom and his sardonic friend Dicky (Grant) travel from London to see Ivan. After a very rocky start caused by Dom's loose tongue, they're in the middle of wildly hedonistic holiday when things take a sudden turn. Dom finds himself penniless back in England, turning to his daughter Evelyn (Clarke) for help. When she refuses to talk to him, he seeks work from a young thug (Hunter).

Up until the mid-point plot-shift, the film is a lot of fun, mainly because Dom's tirades are riotously rude but still have a literary lilt to them. This man clearly has no filter on what he says or does, so he goes from one spot of trouble to another. Law plays him with gusto, winning us over in the comical first half then struggling to keep even a hint of sympathy in the much mopier drama that follows. Frankly, we begin to think that Dom is finally getting what he deserves; we certainly don't want him to come out on top.

Dom Hemingway has recently completed a 12-year stint in prison for his criminal exploits as a talented safecracker but, needless to say, he is anything but reformed. On his release, he meets up with his balding, glove-wearing partner Dickie who helps him track down his old gangster boss Mr. Fontaine to retrieve a large sum of money owed to him for keeping his silence on his criminal past for so long. The first thing he does when he gets hold of it? He throws a massive, alcohol-fuelled, women-laden party to celebrate his freedom, but with dire consequences. When he wakes up outside in the worst state he's been in for a while, he realises that his money has completely disappeared, but that's not the only thing he has to seek out. His daughter Evelyn is now a mother, and he's determined to re-build a relationship and get to know his grandson. However, getting his life on track proves more difficult than he imagined.

This gritty British crime thriller has been directed and written by Primetime Emming winning Richard Shepard ('The Matador', 'The Hunting Party', 'Oxygen'). It has a wicked humour in all the right places but looks like it could be a pretty touching story too. It is set to be released on November 15th 2013.

Spike Island Review

Weak

There's a terrific blast of nostalgia in this finely crafted film, which will probably make it a hit for Stone Roses fans, but it's so jaggedly edited that the plot is almost impenetrable. Without a real sense of who the characters are, it's very difficult to get involved in their adventure.

It's 1990, and a group of teens are overexcited about the upcoming Stone Roses concert on Spike Island in Widnes. Gary (Tittensor), known as "Tits", is the ostensible leader of the garage band Shadowcaster, along with his best pal Dodge (Mirallegro) and their friends Zippy, Gaz and Penfold (Murphy, Long and Heald). The problem is that they don't have tickets for the event, and Gary plans to meet there with his long-time crush Sally (Clarke). Meanwhile, he's distracted by the fact that his father (Evets) is ill and his mother is annoyed that he's spending all his time with his friends instead of being with her at the hospital.

Along with the various strands of Gary's story, there are also sideplots for several other characters, which diffuses the film away from the central narrative about five guys trying to get into a landmark concert staged by their idols. The film leaps around between all of these storylines without properly settling down, which means none of the relationships ever come to life. For example, we can see that Gary and Dodge have years of camaraderie, although we don't really understand why they're still friends now.

And Breathe: Audience Catches A Break With Game Of Thrones Finale [Recap]

Peter Dinklage Lena Headey Maisie Williams Emilia Clarke Kit Harington

This week on Game of Thrones, viewers were let off easy for the finale – the producers probably realised that we are all still recovering from last week’s episode and the Red Wedding. But there were still a number of plot twists (beware of spoilers ahead.) After witnessing the brutal murders of some of her last remaining family members, Arya Stark got some measure of revenge by stabbing one of Walder Fray’s soldiers, as her captor-turned-companion Sandor "The Hound" Clegane took care of the soldier’s comrades. Obviously, the violence will keep getting worse from here on, but after last week’s episode, Thrones fans seem to be able to stomach anything.

Then we had Jaime Lannister, finally back at King’s Landing and reunited with his twin sister Cersei, while Jon Snow had a reunion of another kind, returning to the night’s watch, after escaping the wrath of his scorned lover, wildling Ygritte. On two opposite sides of the GoT universe, two very different characters continued their journeys. While Bran walked on towards his destination north of the wall – a journey, which still seems rather inexplicable, Daenerys Targeryen continued to build her power through the love of her people and finally freed the slaves of Yunkai. While some rise and others fall, as usual in the game of thrones (which you win or you die, as Robb Stark and co. reminded us last week) something altogether darker and more sinister is brewing north of the wall – the White Walkers and their army of undead.

Of course, we got the occasional quip from Tyrion Lannister (the ever entertaining Peter Dinklage) to lighten the mood, but after recent events, let’s just say that there’s a whole lot of lightening to do.

Gary (aka Tits) and his friends Dodge, Zippy, Little Gaz and Penfold are an ambitious amateur indie band from Manchester with an unshakeable adoration for The Stone Roses. As a once in a lifetime major gig for the legendary group approaches, the friends are determined to watch musical history unfold as they set out to gatecrash the show on Spike Island. Their plan? Break into the venue without tickets and hand over their precious demo tape to the lead singer with the hope that it will shape their musical futures. However, things aren't as easy as they sound with school and girls as constant distractions, and no initial way of getting to the Island. Not to mention the swarming security and high fences they'll have to pass to get in. Their determined mission will no doubt test their friendship and the way they view the future as they are about to face hard facts about life and dreams.
