Eminem visited a 17-year-old terminally ill fan on Sunday (11.01.15).

The 'Berzerk' hitmaker went to see Gage Garmo, who has been told he only has a week to live due to suffering from Osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer, at his home in Michigan after the teenager's family started a hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem on Twitter in an attempt to get the rapper to pop round.

Eminem didn't want the visit to become a media spectacle and secretly went to Gage's house at 5pm on Sunday, where they chatted about basketball and hip hop for around two hours.

Rainbow Connection, a charity which aims to grant wishes to children in Michigan with life-threatening illnesses, helped to arrange the visit and the aid organisation's Ingrid Todt revealed it brought a rare smile to Gage's face.

She is quoted by USA Today as saying: ''Gage sat up with a grin on his face. His family hadn't seen their son do that in such a long time.''

The 42-year-old star was later praised by the charity after he managed to fit the visit in at ''short notice''.

Mary Grace McCarter, executive director at Rainbow Connection, said: ''We're so glad we were able to reach Eminem's people and they were able to respond, and Eminem was able on such short notice to go and see this boy in his own home.

''It says something about everybody, really. I hope all the students and friends of Gage feel good about their well-wishes too.''
