Rapper Eminem's show in Ireland on Saturday (17Aug13) was thrown into chaos after more than 60 revellers were arrested by police.

The Lose Yourself hitmaker was headlining a gig in Slane, but the show was marred when 22 fans were taken into custody for public order offences, including being drunk, threatening or abusive in a public place.

Another 35 were detained for minor drug offences, while there were five reported assaults and one person was held for driving while under the influence.

Police superintendent Michael Devine, who oversaw the show, downplayed the arrests, insisting, "The vast majority of fans heeded the advice given in advance of the event which ensured everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience."
