There have been few more interesting ways to release news about an upcoming album than by releasing a flatpeak that implies it, but that's just what Eminem has done. Using the Detroit Tigers colours and logo style on the front of the limited edition hat, the 8 Mile rapper also included the dates of his albums releases on the side, including the date 2013 which implies his 8th studio album will be released next year. The retail website that the hat has been released on says that a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Marshall Mathers Foundation.

He has commented, infrequently, about work on his latest album since May of this year (2012). According to Entertainment Weekly, Dr Dre and No I.D. have been working on the project with Eminem. His albums are always awash with the industry's best producers and collaborators, and with these two guys on board it implies that it'll be a good'en. This 8th album will be the first since his 2010 album Recovery which was both revered and criticized, splitting many reviewers. At the ripe old age of 40, the hope is that with added maturity, 20 years of extraordinary lyrical experience and the world's best producers at his feet, Mather's 8th album could be his best yet. Only time will tell.

No I.D. said "I definitely sat down and spoke with Eminem about working and we agreed to get in the studio and see what we could do. He's one of the best, I want to work with one of the best and try and give some music contributions. I think that would be one of the next steps in that lineage of what I'm trying to do." Eminem has also been working with Slaughterhouse this year, touring with the hiphop supergroup who are signed to Shady, Eminem's record label.
