From who was meant to star to how much the stars learned.
'La La Land' broke records this year by winning a total of seven Golden Globes out of seven nominations, which is the most a movie has ever won. It's well deserved too, being one of the most impressive films of 2016 and an extremely relevent one for stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

It's their third movie together after 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and 'Gangster Squad', and if you ever wondered where the title comes from, it's both a reference to Los Angeles (LA) and the city's capacity to draw dreamers to its heart. Emma Stone herself was one of those dreamers at the age of 15.

The two actors had all eyes on them as Gosling accepted his award.
Gosling beat Reynolds to the award and the Deadpool star consoled himself by smooching Garfield, who also left the awards empty handed after losing out on Best Performance in a Motion Picture Drama to Casey Affleck.
The film won every appropriate category.
The 74th Golden Globe Awards saw a very clear frontrunner reigning amongst the winners as 'La La Land' manages to take home no less than seven prizes. The musical romance which hit theatres on Christmas Day beat the likes of 'Deadpool' to the top spot and didn't miss out on a single prize it was nominated for.
'La La Land' was the big winner of the night, landing Best Motion Picture for a Musical, Best Actor and Actress for Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone's performances, Best Director and Screenplay for Damien Chazelle's work, Best Original Score and Best Original Song for 'City of Stars'.

The film has been savaged by critics, as well as coming under fire for its lack of racial diversity.
Director Cameron Crowe has responded to the backlash over the casting of Emma Stone as a part-Asian character in his latest film Aloha. The film and the director received substantial criticism online when it was found that Stone’s character, Captain Allison Ng, was a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Chinese, leading the director to apologise for casting the actress.

Writing on his website The Uncool on Tuesday, Crowe offered a lengthly apology in a blog post titled ‘A Comment on Allison Ng’. “Thank you so much for all the impassioned comments regarding the casting of the wonderful Emma Stone in the part of Allison Ng,” the director wrote. “I have heard your words and your disappointment, and I offer you a heart-felt apology to all who felt this was an odd or misguided casting choice.”
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will certainly be this weekend’s box office champ after Bradley Cooper’s ‘Aloha’ bombs.
After taking a massive $18.2 million on Friday, including $3.1m after Thursday previews, earthquake disaster movie San Andreas, starring Dwayne Johnson, looks on course to take $48 million this weekend. The disaster flick is way ahead of Bradley Cooper rom-con Aloha which also opened this weekend and suffered dismal reviews from the critics.

According to Forbes, San Andreas crushed the competition on Friday and is now on course for a weekend debut as high as $48 million, with audiences giving the movie a resounding thumbs up. It seems US audiences can’t help but be enthralled by the idea of The Rock taking on an earthquake and the box office receipts will speak for themselves.
Following criticism towards the diversity of the cast after the trailer dropped and unfortunate reactions from the production team during the Sony Hacking Scandal, the stars of 'Aloha' are promoting the film.
'Aloha', the new film from Cameron Crowe ('Almost Famous', 'Jerry Maguire'), opens this weekend in North America, and arrives in cinemas amid controversy and middling reviews. The film stars Bradley Cooper as a military contractor sent to Hawaii, where he falls for Emma Stone's Air Force pilot.

Critics have called it charming but meandering and unfocussed. But the problems began at the end of last year, when the Sony hackers released a memo in which the studio's chair Amy Pascal wrote about the film: "I'm never starting a movie again when the script is this ridiculous.... It never not even once works."

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield's 'break' may be over as the couple were spotted enjoying lunch together and looking cosy earlier this week.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield may be back together - properly! The news that the two were "on a break" (cue Friends impressions) left fans of the couple devastated when it was confirmed by multiple sources back in April. Their 'break' reportedly stemmed from the physical distance between them because of their different filming schedules. However, it seems their split was short lived as Garfield and Stone were spotted together in California this week.

Woody Allen's new movie 'Irrational Man' could be another hit for the auteur.
Woody Allen continues to be as prolific as ever, regularly churning out one movie a year since 2000. The financiers are only too happy to put forward the cash because, for the most part, Allen's movies are successful - critically and commercially. Since 2005, the auteur's films have taken well over $500 million at the box-office.
Woody Allen's new movie Irrational Man looks like the auteur's classic fare
His latest movie, Irrational Man, promises to add to that tally. Drawing on the talents of Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone, the movie - shot mostly around Newport, Rhode Island - follows a troubled but charismatic professor named Abe Lucas who arrives at a new campus and whose sex life is rescued by a student.
