17 year old Jacob Staudenmaier painstakingly re-creating the 'highway scene' opening of 'La La Land', changing the words to ask Stone to his school prom.
An American teenager has attempted to invite Hollywood megastar Emma Stone to his school prom by re-creating in detail the opening sequence to La La Land.
17 year old Jacob Staudenmaier re-wrote the words to the movie’s song ‘Another Day of Sun’, and persuaded some of his schoolmates to assist him in trying to persuade the Oscar-winning actress to be his date at his prom.
An aspiring filmmaker himself, he directed and choreographed the two-minute sequence that has since been re-tweeted nearly 2,000 times and generated even more likes since the video surfaced earlier this week.

It sees Staudenmaier jump out of a car dressed in a tuxedo in his (and Stone’s) hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona in order to recreate the iconic ‘freeway’ scene that kicks off La La Land.
He then sings “Maybe I could buy you dinner it’ll make my night and maybe make yours to. Emma Stone if you came I think I’d go insane.”

He then shared it on Twitter on Tuesday (April 4th), captioning it: “I’M ASKING EMMA STONE TO PROM, and decided to recreate the opening scene from La La Land @RyanGosling @LaLaLand @johnjayandrich #prom.”
Interviewed by USA Today the following day when the clip started generating widespread attention, Staudenmaier said: “It’s going better than expected. It started with the kind of crazy idea of saying, ‘Yeah, maybe I’ll go with Emma Stone to the prom’. I decided if I was going to do this, I really needed to do it big.”

“I haven’t heard anything specifically from her,” he said when asked if he knew whether Stone had actually seen it or not. “I’ve heard a rumour and sort of a confirmed truth that her mum has seen it. I assume at some point it will get to her.”
Staudenmaier said, if he gets a response from Stone, he will “handle it on the fly,” and “just roll with it and go with the flow.” Er, yeah right mate.
