Emma Watson has become the new face of Lancome.

The 'Harry Potter' actress has signed a deal with the cosmetics firm to appear in range of campaigns for them - with the first one being shot by legendary photographer Mario Testino - and says she can't wait to get to work.

She said of her new role: "It's so exciting, I can't wait to start shooting. Although I don't wear much make-up, I'm a big fan of Lancome products, especially their mascara."

Emma, 20, is following in the footsteps of Julia Roberts and Uma Thurman in representing the brand.

Emma - who has appeared in several campaigns for Burberry - recently launched a fair-trade clothing collection for People Tree and said it's something she wants to do more of.

She revealed: "I love it, and I will continue to work in The Fashion industry. I am interested in ethical fashion, I want to make a difference and it's nice to contribute."

Emma had previously revealed her fashion range was inspired by her summer wardrobe.

She said: "I went through my summer wardrobe and thought, 'If I filtered this so that it was just the very basics, what would I want to keep?' The Answer was cotton vests, easy T-shirt dresses, nice scarves to accessorise with and some lovely linen pieces. For the boys' range I've done hoodies, which I know they'll love. The clothes are very British, which is why we shot the campaign in an English country garden - it's all very strawberries and cream and tennis."
