Spanish Superstar Enrique Iglesias Has Lost All Feeling In His Finger Tip After It Was Slashed During A Drone Accident Onstage In May (15).
The Hero singer suffered nasty cuts to his hand while performing in Tijuana, Mexico after reaching out to grab a flying drone, which he uses to capture video footage at his shows. The stunt went wrong as the device sliced into his fingers, but he refused to end the concert early and was photographed with blood dripping from a makeshift bandage onto his white T-shirt, on which he drew a heart.
He was subsequently diagnosed with a fracture and had to undergo reconstructive surgery, and although Enrique insists he is fine now, he confesses the incident cost him the sense of touch in one finger tip.
"I am OK, I have already healed 100 per cent," he tells TVyNovelas.com. "It was only a scare, thank God. I could have lost part of my finger, but I had a good doctor who helped me a lot and everything came out OK."
At the time of Enrique's operation in June (15), his representatives revealed the injury had been worse than anticipated.
"His recent surgery lasted longer than expected since the damage ended up being a bit worse than initially assessed," read a statement on the star's website. "He suffered a fracture that needed to be corrected in addition to the reconstructive surgery. He will be recovering during the next few weeks, but a full recovery is anticipated."
The singer, who returned to the stage at the end of June (15), has since been inspired to turn his T-shirt blood art into merchandise for a good cause.
The 39 year old's spokesperson stops short of sharing details about the clothing plans, but insists it will be "something special".
