Matrix actress Essie Davis has reportedly become the latest addition to ‘Game of Thrones’ season six cast. The Australian star has already been pictured on the set of the HBO drama which is currently filming its new season, set to air next year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davis will play a member of a traveling theatre troupe in Braavos who stages a play titled 'The Bloody Hand'. In the play-within-a-show, Davis will portray Cersei Lannister, a character which mocks debauchery of Lena Headey’s Queen Cersei and the world of Westeros, so we can all imagine how that will go down with the Queen.

Tasmanian-born Davis is best known for her roles in The Matrix Revolutions, The Matrix Reloaded and Australian psychological horror film The Babadook. She also starred in the original version of ‘The Slap’ which was recently remade for US television.

Joining Davis will be Richard E Grant, who will also reportedly play part of the theatre troupe, as well as Freddie Stroma, Ian McShane, Pilou Asbaek and Max Von Sydow (who will portray the Three-Eyed Raven).

Filming on the new season is underway in Belfast, with fans on the 'Watchers on the Wall' fansite managing to capture some photos from the set, giving some clues as to what viewers can expect. However there’s sadly still quite a long wait until the season actually premieres, which will be in spring of next year.
