Eva Longoria isn’t your typical celebrity – while most Hollywood dwellers spent the last three years milling around film sets and picking outfits for premieres, Longoria spent her time getting a Master’s degree. Ok, to be fair, there was probably a lot of outfit picking and premiere attending in there too, but still – balancing the responsibilities of an actress with those of a student probably wasn’t easy.

Longoria’s shiny new degree is in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she attended three whole years of classes, along with shooting for Desperate Housewives. The actress even did her coursework on set, according to TMZ. After the expert balancing act, Longoria has definitely earned her cap and gown – perhaps more so than a lot of her fellow graduates. Her new degree (following a Bachelor’s in kinesiology from Texas A&M) is in Chicano Studies, presumably because Longoria is of Mexican descent herself, with her final thesis being titled "Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers." "STEM" is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.

But the hectic schedule was far from over after the coursework was done. The actress reportedly attended a charity event at Cannes, right before boarding a 17-hour-flight to her graduation ceremony. "She does these things with such ease and grace," Fonda blogged, mentioning that Eva auctioned off a date with herself at Cannes.
