Eva Longoria received a humanitarian award at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy on Tuesday (17Jun14).
The Desperate Housewives actress was honoured for her work with the Eva Longoria Foundation, a charity she set up to help female Latin Americans reach their potential through education and training.
During her acceptance speech, Longoria paid tribute to the Tv series which launched her to stardom, saying, "If it wasn't for Desperate Housewives, I wouldn't be able to have the reach that I have to talk to people in the world."
On Tuesday evening, Longoria hosted a dinner for her foundation and was presented with an enormous celebration cake. Bo Derek and Pamela Anderson were among the guests.
