The yet-to-be-named collection will launch with dresses, work wear and casual sportswear and expand to footwear and accessories.

Announcing the fashion news in a press release on Wednesday (08Jul15), the former Desperate Housewives star says, "I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and it is a real privilege to partner with Sunrise Brands who brings their expert experience in the apparel world.

"I am excited to design a collection that will offer women versatility while evoking confidence, comfort, and a sense of glamour."

And Longoria insists she won't simply be picking colours and fabrics, telling WWD.com, "I have an industrial sewing machine in my house, and I'm so excited when they develop a new pedal: 'Ooh, now I can do a chain stitch...' People think I’m crazy."

Ironically, Sunrise Brands is also the brains behind Melissa McCarthy’s new Seven7 line.

Longoria isn't new to the fashion branding game - she also has a JCPenney bedding line and two fragrances, Eva by Eva Longoria and EVAmour.
