Actor Ewan McGregor, funnyman Eddie Izzard, and singer Robbie Williams have joined forces to urge the British government to tackle world hunger.

The trio has signed a letter to the U.K.'s Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne demanding he honours his pledge to devote 0.7 per cent of the country's national income to overseas aid.

They are also urging the politician to introduce new laws clamping down on British business owners who relocate their company abroad to slash their tax bill.

The note, which has also been signed by other British stars including actors Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen, and Tom Hiddleston, will be delivered to Osborne's office on Thursday (14Mar13).
