Justice League Teaser Trailer

In the wake of his friend Clark Kent's monumental sacrifice, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince are determined to recruit the most powerful superheroes on the planet to help them fight a new menace that Lex Luthor predicted was coming to the Earth. They are the intrepid Arthur Curry or Aquaman, king of the sea; the young but lightning-fast Barry Allen, also known as The Flash; and the half-man half-machine known as Victor Stone or Cyborg. Together they must fight an army of parademons that have descended upon them, apparently in search of the Mother Box that transformed Victor Stone into the biomechanical creature he is. They are serving the villainous extra-terrestrial Steppenwolf, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants and take over the world. But as you can probably work out, these heroes have an advantage in that Superman is far from dead as they initially suspected.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Clips

The time is drawing ever closer to the release of Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find, within a short number of days we will finally be able to get a glimpse into the life of a character that author J.K. Rowling so lovingly developed. Even when Newt Scamander was a young Hogwarts student, he always loved the wilder side of magic. If there was a wild beast to nurture, Newt would be the enthusiastic child wanting to find out more.

When he grew up, he became an acclaimed magizoologist and formed his own unique and rather deadly collection of beasts. Any endangered species, Newt would willingly look after and add to his endless list of beasts, all with their own unique powers. After a busy trip collecting more creatures, Newt visits the city of New York and arrives to find that tensions between the wizarding community and a group of powerful muggles (known as the Second Salemers) are battling one another; the Second Salemers goal is to eradicate the wizarding community.

When some of Newt's beasts are accidentally released, he is quickly called to answer questions from the Director of Magical Security at MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) who presumes Newt is guilty of working with wizard Gellert Grindelwald. The director, Percival Graves, believes that Newt has purposefully released the beasts to expose magic kind in order to stir up tension between and further the war between the muggles (No-Maj) and the wizarding world.

Justice League - Comic Con Trailer

Bruce Wayne knows that the Earth is under threat from evil forces much worse than any he's - or any other superhero - has previously seen. To defend the people of Earth, Bruce and Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) decide to hunt down some of the most skilled individuals the planet has to offer, each of these people have a special talent and could play a vital part in saving the world.

As well as the new recruits (who include Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash) Batman also recruits Wonder Woman who previously fought alongside Superman whilst trying to beat Lex Luthor's incredibly strong genetically-engineered creature which also killed Superman. The fate of Superman is unclear but given the end of Batman Vs. Superman it's presumed that Superman will return to life albeit potentially temporarily weakened.

The Justice League is DC Comics’ superhero team and it’s thought that a supervillain called Steppenwolf will be their main target – though it’s sure that Lex Luthor will appear and cause as much trouble as he possibly can.

The upcoming movie sees Affleck reprise his role as Batman, alongside Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller.

Ben Affleck surprised fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 24) during Warner Bros’ panel at Hall H. The Batman actor appeared alongside his co-stars from the upcoming Justice League movie and helped unveil the first footage from the much-anticipated comic book film, which is due for release next November.

Appearing in front of the 6,000-strong gathering of fans, Affleck first paused to have his own ‘nerd’ moment. Taking a picture of the huge crowd he said: ”I've never done this before, it’s kind of nerdy. It’s just not going to happen again, it’s kind of a cool moment for me.”

The Stanford Prison Experiment Review

Excellent

Based on real events, this sharply well-made film shifts from a rather light-hearted comedy into a horrific thriller. And it feels unnervingly natural as it does so. Where this goes is a bit relentless in its exploration of the darkest aspects of human capabilities, but it's also bracingly truthful. At the same time, it shows the enduring value of an experiment that seemed to go perilously wrong.

In Northern California in 1971, a group of 24 university students respond to a newspaper advert asking for participants in a psychological experiment. On the toss of a coin, organiser Dr Zimbardo (Billy Crudup) divides the young men into guards and inmates, and places them in a makeshift prison where they can be observed. And things start to turn nasty very quickly, as guard Christopher (Michael Angarano) targets snarky prisoner 8612 (Ezra Miller) for extra punishment. The guards also turn on the especially vulnerable 819 (Tye Sheridan). And when the inmates revolt, Zimbardo allows the guards to carry on with their increasingly harsh discipline. But Zimbardo's girlfriend Christina (Olivia Thirlby), herself a psychologist, worries that the situation has gone too far.

It's intriguing, and perhaps obvious, that it had to be a woman who saw through a scenario that had become little more than an out-of-control expression of masculinity. Even more telling, Zimbardo and his team became part of the experiment themselves, as they allowed and were fascinated by the abuse heaped on the prisoners by play-acting guards who let the power go to their heads. Director Kyle Patrick Alvarez (C.O.G.) shoots this in an unusually stripped-down style that gives the film a documentary tone. This low key approach means that the pacing sometimes feels draggy, as the intensely internalised suspense cycles around and around again. But what this is revealing about human behaviour is invaluable, and seriously terrifying.

Long before Harry Potter - or his parents - took up residence at Hogwarts, there was a student called Newt Scamander. An inquisitive boy who was constantly on the lookout for new magical creatures found himself being expelled from the school for endangering the lives of the pupils. Though Newt was expelled for his actions, a certain teacher going by the name of Albus Dumbledore stuck up for the young wizard.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Review

Good

After 2013's beefy Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder goes even bigger and darker with this sequel, cross-pollenating Clark Kent's story with flashbacks to the origins of Bruce Wayne and his Dark Knight alter-ego. The problem is that the film is so big and loud that it can't help but feel bloated, especially since so much of what's on screen feels rather vacuous. But it looks amazing and is relentlessly gripping.

After a Bat-origin prologue, the story kicks off with the climactic battle from Man of Steel as seen from the perspective of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), watching his city being destroyed by Superman (Henry Cavill). This further fuels the rage that began when his parents were murdered. And that fire is stoked by the mischievous millionaire Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Meanwhile, Superman/Clark is struggling with how the world is revering him as a god, which is straining his relationship with intrepid reporter Lois (Amy Adams). As these very different vigilante heros head toward a climactic confrontation, Luthor is up to something seriously nefarious. And the ensuing chaos brings another hero into the open, Wonder Woman Diana Prince (Gal Gadot).

While the various plot threads are fascinating, and Snyder maintains a snappy pace, the overall story centres on the fact that Affleck's prickly, bitter Bruce is easily manipulated into doing terrible things, which makes him rather unlikeable. And Cavill's fundamentally good Clark isn't much easier to identify with. Both are also oddly constrained by their costumes and bulked-up physicalities, which leave them unable to move properly. This allows the side characters to steal the show: Adams adds emotion and passion, Eisenberg provides the nutty nastiness, Irons is hilariously cynical as Bruce's butler Alfred, and Fishburne is all bluster as Lois' editor. But in the end, the film belongs to the gorgeous, clear-headed Gadot, instantly making her stand-alone movie the most anticipated superhero project on the horizon.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Trailer

Every superhero has a dark side and being 100% human, Batman is in doubt over how genuine Superman actually is. After all, Superman is from a different planet and has incredibly natural powers; powers that could easily destroy our world.

As Lex Luther manipulates Batman and Superman into a deeper and deeper war, the duo find that they are pitted against a force that's much more of a present threat than either of the heroes. They are joined by a number of other heroes (including Wonder Woman and The Flash) on a quest to save earth from immediate danger.

Warner Bros. Pictures releases Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice in cinemas 25 March 2016.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them - Teaser Trailer

Long before the time of Harry Potter, wizards and witches still lived their lives in the muggle world as well as the wizarding world that was still governed by the ministry of magic.

Even though 'he who shall not be named' wasn't causing chaos for the wizards, they still had problems of their own. Largely these were monsters and beasts that come from far and distant lands. Newt Scamander is one particular wizard who is fascinated by these creators and when a selection of these terrible beasts are mistakenly released into the muggle world, Newt finds himself suddenly thrown into untrodden territory.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was originally written as a book by JK Rowling. The book studies 83 of these mystical creators all of which Newt has discovered.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Official Trailer

What happens when two superheroes with vastly differing opinions come head to head? Well, not very well if Lex Luthor has anything to do with it. Superman believes Batman is a vigilante and the civil liberties of the people of Gotham are 'being trampled on' whilst Batman feels Superman's abilities are blown out of proportion by the media and is far from a fan of his superhero outfit.

Lex Luthor has enough power to manipulate this situation to his benefit and pitches both heroes against one another - Son of Krypton versus Bat of Gotham however, when his plan doesn't go exactly to plan he creates a monster to destroy both men - on the verge of destruction, Batman and Superman are joined by Wonder Woman, Aquaman and other superheroes on their quest to save their city from destruction.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder and it's a precursor to The Justice League films - which are also written and directed by Snyder.

'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' Sees Emma Watson And Cast Blossom

Emma Watson looks like she's firmly moved on from Harry Potter if new reviews of her latest film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower are anything to go by. The film comes out worldwide on October 3, 2012 and is a vintage tale of growing up and learning to deal with new emotions in love and loss, fear and hope and friendship. That might sound corny, but the critics are getting behind it in their numbers, meaning that it looks like it'll do well come release at the box office.

However, not all the plaudits are going Watson's way; The New York Times comments "Likable, unsurprising and principally a showcase for the pretty young cast, notably Mr. Miller, who brings texture to his witty if sensitive gay quipster." Rolling Stone meanwhile adds: "Perks deserves points for going beyond the typical coming-of-age drivel aimed at teens. Logan Lerman excels as Charlie and Emma Watson makes a dream girl to die for, but the movie is stolen, head to tail, by Ezra Miller."

Not everyone is convinced; Time writes "It's all frightfully familiar - as if teens sitting around the campfire need to be told the same story every night - until the last 15 mins., when this Cocoa Puffs movie reveals an underlayer of arsenic." However that argument is balanced out by Salon, who comment "Fact is, much as you and I might want to protest that we were cooler than these kids, wherever and whenever we did our growing up, we probably weren't."

Baffled By ‘The Olive Tree’: Emma Watson Gets To Grips With US Culture

Emma Watson may be able to do a convincing American accent but cultural differences still wedge a gap between her and her US co-stars. In a recent interview on MTV, Emma joined The Perks of Being A Wallflower co-stars Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller the young actors joked about Emma’s confusion a few years ago, when she was asked to read a bunch of phrases in an American accent and the first phrase was ‘The Olive Garden.’ Most Americans will recognise the name of the chain of Italian restaurants but Emma was none the wiser. Her co-stars had to inform her that it was, in fact, simply a restaurant chain and not something more exciting like “a secret garden, full of olives” as Ezra suggested, jokingly: “Oils of olives and all the olives we know, they come from there.”

“We very much had to ask these guys [Miller and Lerman], and they thought it was hilarious, because I'm so naive about these things. They still haven't told me,” laughed Emma during the interview, before explaining that her pals had a pretty clear advantage when it came to understanding American culture. “These guys had had their own personal experiences, they [grew up here], and I arrived in my panicky way, kind of stressed out, and these guys had to tell me, 'It's OK, Emma, it's going to be fine.”

So far, the movie has been well-received. It looks as though The Perks of Being A Wallflower, which is released next month, could well be the breakthrough role that Watson needs to shake off the legacy of Hermione Granger, the character that she played for many years in the Harry Potter movies as a child.
