When a pandemic virus escapes into the atmosphere, no one is safe. Brothers Danny and Brian believe they're able to avoid contracting the virus by setting out a few ground rules.

The boys set off on a road trip with Danny's girlfriend Bobby and her friend Kate. The friends believe that they should be able to outlive the virus as long as they steer clear of contact with other humans. When a father and his infected daughter run the foursome off the road in their car, the damage is so extreme they must team up their resources and travel the father's car.

As the little girl falls more and more ill, Brian's girlfriend becomes infected with the disease whilst trying to help the girl breath. When Brian finds out about Bobbies impending medical predicament, he forces her to leave the car and face her future alone enabling Brian to keep his brother safe. As time goes by the three friends must live with the choice they made to leave their friend behind at the same time, it's a fight for survival as Brian starts to develop the symptoms.
