The cast and crew of ‘Noah’; director Darren Aronofsky, actors Russell Crowe and Emma Watson, and production designer Mark Friedberg; discuss the creation of the ark on set in a short featurette.
‘The idea was let’s go back to what God tells Noah in the Bible’, says Darren. ‘It basically describes a box; it wasn’t like Noah was trying to take the ship anywhere, it just basically has to survive the flood.’ Having worked on epic films the likes of ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Gladiator’ respectively before, Emma and Russell were thoroughly impressed with the outcome. ‘I’m very fortunate to have worked on films with big budgets and amazing sets but I still think that what Darren has pulled off is quite incredible’, Emma reveals. The film is set for release on March 28th 2014.
