The Evil Queen, Ravenna, is very beautiful but very deadly. Early in her reign, she despaired over 'battles fought and lives lost' but now, she draws strength from the cries of war. Each day, she looks in her magic mirror and asks 'who is the fairest of them all?' The answer is always her.
Until one day, when the mirror tells her there is someone much fairer then her: Snow White, a girl with skin as white as snow and hair as black as night. The Queen is furious and orders her best huntsman to kill the young girl.
What Queen Ravenna doesn't know is that the huntsman is actually protecting Snow White and training her for combat. There is a battle planned against the Queen to topple her from her throne. With the help of seven dwarves, Snow White fights to defeat Ravenna and win the hand of the handsome Prince William, who is captivated by her.
Snow White and the Huntsman is just one of two movies being released this year about the classic fairytale; its rival is the more light-hearted Mirror Mirror. Twilight's Kristen Stewart plays the beautiful Snow White. Lilly Collins auditioned for the role but lost out to Kristen and in a surprising twist, the former is now starring in Mirror Mirror as Snow White.
The film is produced by Joe Roth, who produced Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland in 2010.
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Nick Frost, Sam Claflin, Eddie Marsan, Lily Cole, Bob Hoskins, Vincent Regan, Dave Legeno, Rachael Stirling, Johnny Harris, Joey Ansah, Sam Spruell, Mark Wingett and Liberty Ross
