David and Amy Sumner are a happily married couple who live in L.A., when Amy's father dies the couple dicide to relocate from L.A to Amy's childhood home in the south in order to repair the damaged home to prepare it for sale.
Initially David embraces his new slower way of life but tensions begin to arise. With the house needing major repairs some of Amy's old class mates, including Amy's ex-boyfriend Charlie, volenteer to do the work. As soon as work begins it's quite clear that the men have a problem with the 'soft' Los Angeles native who avoids confrontation and they will go to lengths to make him feel uncomfortable. Amy threatened by the workers behaviour asks her husband to confront the men but David decides to take a different route and attempt to befriend them. As David realises his plan is failing, the locals take wicked revenge against him and his wife, the results of which could cost them both their lives.
This is a remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1971 film of the same name, which is based on the Gordon Williams novel The Siege of Trencher's Farm.
