Robert 'Bob' Mazur is a federal agent who has been assigned the task of going on an undercover mission to infiltrate Pablo Escobar's drug trafficking business that was rife in 1986. In this film we see Mazur pose as a slick money - laundering business man who can be of benefit to Escobar and his company. Emir Abreu acts as Mazur's sidekick after being teamed together in the staff briefing and they set out to infiltrate the gang by drinking and socialising with them, their main target being that of Roberto Alcaino who is one of Escobar's top lieutenants.
Mazur enlists the help of a new recruit, Kathy Ertz, to act in the role of his fiancé to make his cover story even more credible. In this game one wrong word could send the mission in to deep water that would most certainly threaten all the lives of the people involved. The people Escobar takes into his inner circle are only those he trusts and must show their loyalty, something Mazur is quick to learn. Based on a true story, Mazur and his teams work built a case that led to 85 allegations being made towards Florida's drug lords and corrupt bankers. The collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International which was one of the largest money - laundering banks in the world.
