Will Montgomery is an Army Officer who's returned home from Iraq and he's been assigned as one of the officers who must notify families of casualties. His new partner Tony Stone is a lot more experienced than Will in his new role and takes a lead from him. Travelling to different locations informing loved ones and next of kin of injury and death takes its toll emotionally on the pair. Will finds himself drawn to Olivia who he's just told about the death of her husband. As the film develops, a surprising and moving plot emerges.
Ben Foster leads the cast in his most powerful role to date.
