Reggae star Finley Quaye's assault case has been deferred because the singer has failed to pay his lawyer.
The Sunday Shining hitmaker's legal representative has withdrawn from the trial in Edinburgh, Scotland, where Quaye faces sentencing for a racially aggravated assault on a woman last year (Oct11).
The singer, who was named Best British Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards in 1998, has previously admitted spitting on the woman's face and punching her.
Sentencing has been deferred until 5 October (12), allowing the defendant time to hire another lawyer.
