The Public Enemy star, real name William Drayton, is facing a felony charge of driving with a suspended license, in addition to a speeding violation and two misdemeanours for driving without a license after he was pulled over in January, 2014, while racing to his mother's funeral in Long Island.

He pleaded not guilty to the counts earlier this year (15), and had been in the process of working out a settlement with authorities.

However, during a hearing on Tuesday (28Jul15), the prosecutor in the case announced the plea deal had been pulled, while it also emerged Flavor Flav is now in need of a new legal representative after firing his lawyer - the second to take up the case.

No further details were available as WENN went to press.

He is next due in court on 10 August (15).

The traffic charges are not the only legal problems facing the 56 year old - last week (ends24Jul15), he was charged with a DUI following his arrest in Las Vegas in May (15), in addition to counts of speeding and having an open container of alcohol.

That news came just weeks after the rapper learned he will not face prosecution over an illegal 2014 fireworks display outside his home in Las Vegas. He was accused of breaking the law by setting off a huge display of illegal fireworks to celebrate America's Independence Day holiday in July, 2014, but prosecutors dropped the case due to a lack of evidence.
