Fleetwood Mac's reclusive former member Christine McVie has apparently voiced her interest in once again becoming a full-time member of the acclaimed, reformed group. After leaving the band for good in 1998, McVie came out of retirement in September this year to perform 'Don't Stop' with the rest of the band at London's O2 Arena and since then, it seems as though she's acquired the hunger for performing once again.

Speaking with The Guardian last week, the one-time key member of the group revealed her reason for leaving the band, but said that despite her feelings in 1998, she feels ready to face the world again and team up with the band as they continue to tour. The band are currently on hiatus from touring while Christine's ex-husband John McVie undergoes cancer treatment, however when they do return to the road, McVie's comments have suggested that she might be on the road with them.

"I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted… but it hasn't happened so we'll have to wait and see," she told the paper about her flirtations with rejoining the group. When discussing her reasons for leaving the band, she said, "I think I was just music'd out. I suffered from some kind of delusion that I wanted to be an English country girl, a Sloane Ranger or something… and it took me 15 years to realise that it's not really what I wanted at all."

Touring was put on hold when John McVie was diagnosed with cancer

The band were forced to pull out of their Australian and New Zealand tour due to John's cancer diagnosis, however Christine remained upbeat about her former-flame's condition and insisted that he should be ready to perform once again in the not so distance future. She said John was "really good," adding, "He's having his treatment in LA right now, but they caught it really early so he should be up and running in a couple of months."

Whilst the group's touring schedule remains on hiatus until John responds to his treatment, the group are still firm favourites to headline next year's Glastonbury Festival and as their name became more and more associated with a stop at the top of the Pyramid Stage, betting has since been suspended on the band being announced for the Worthy Farm event. The headliners for next year won't be revealed until next year however.
