Review of Only One Flo - Part 1 Album by Flo Rida

Flo Rida is back and still in popular demand. His commercial style of hip hop is certainly gaining much success in the industry and his crossover style into dance music is becoming accepted in that market too. A year later from 'R.O.O.T.S' he releases 'Only One Flo -Part 1', the sequel to the next addition coming soon.

Flo Rida Only One Flo - Part 1 Album

He's definitely perfected his style and 'Part 1' seems a natural continuation from 'R.O.O.T.S'. I'm a more purer hip hop head so usually wouldn't get into this sound, but possibly because we hear so much of it in the charts these days, certainly expanding from the success of WILL.I.AM', this sound doesn't seem so sell out or too soft anymore. In fact it sounds quite on the money for pop music and more intelligent than the average past pop track. His songs are certainly improving with heartfelt emotion on 'Come With Me' and big seller 'Who Dat Girl' featuring Akon. Dance aspects throughout the album and even a feature from David Guetta are certainly going to work well on the dance floor as well as some wacky aspects on 'Turn Around'. Flo who's really known as a rapper is also becoming quite a good singer now.

Flo Rida is unashamedly assaulting the pop marker and doing a very good job at it too. There's no doubt you'll be hearing Flo Rida throughout the year whether on radio or in a club. It's easy to like the energy, intensity and feel good factor on the album and I'm sure there's more to capitalise on in Part 2. I have to respect 'Only One Flo' as what he's doing does deliver and if pop music is moving in this direction it could only be a good thing, as it's a lot better than some previous pop music. However if you're not into pop, or commercial hip hop, you may not like it, but you'll surely hear some Flo this year for sure!
