British rockers Foals look set to dominate the 2011 Shockwaves NME Awards after landing five nominations.
The group has been tipped in the Best British Band category, against Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian and last year's (10) winners Muse.
Foals will go up against Arcade Fire for the Best Album prize - their record Total Life Forever will compete with the Canadian group's The Suburbs. The bands will face Crystal Castles (Crystal Castles II), My Chemical Romance (Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys) and Two Door Cinema Club (Tourist History) for the nod.
Florence Welch, Frank Turner, Kanye West, Laura Marling and Paul Weller will compete for Best Solo Artist, while Cee Lo Green (F**k You), Foals (Spanish Sahara), Gorillaz (Stylo), Janelle Monae featuring Big Boi (Tightrope) and Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. (Bang Bang Bang) are all named in the Best Track category.
The winners will be revealed at the prizegiving in London on 23 February (11).
