The My Habit singers cancelled a radio station performance in the U.K. at the start of September (15) as Yannis feared he had "snapped" his larynx.

Foals began their South American tour in Colombia last week (ends04Oct15) but Yannis' vocal cords suffered during the shows, so they axed their concert in Peru on Monday (05Oct15) to allow the singer to rest.

The remaining six dates of their tour have now been scrapped too, and Yannis took to Twitter.com to apologise to fans.

"I'm so sorry to say that on doctor's orders we are unable to perform this week," he wrote. "We're gutted & can't begin to say how frustrating this is... We were hoping it wouldn't come to this but unfortunately I need 3 weeks off in order for my voice to fully recover.

"We love nothing more than playing on stage for you & it's heartbreaking to have to pull the shows but sometimes health has to come first... We know you'll understand because you're the best & we have rescheduled shows wherever possible... I'm gonna rest up & be ready to return next year, where we'll rock harder than ever. Stay safe & we'll see you soon."

Four of the dates have been rescheduled to July (16).

The band's U.K. tour kicks off on 3 November (15).
