The campaign, started by four fans, to get the rock band back to the city for the first time since 1998 has been a success...find out how.
The Foo Fighters will play an unscheduled show in Richmond, Virginia, after a lengthy campaign started by four eager fans.
Andrew Goldin, Brig White, John McAdorey, and Lucas Krost noticed that the band hasn't played in their hometown, and frontman Dave Grohl's home state, since 1998 so they decided to hatch up a plan to usher them back.

The four locals turned to the crowd-funding site Crowdtilt, to gather all Richmond locals together to purchase tickets to a concert that didn't exist, aiming to rise $70,000 to fill up a venue and pay the band if successful.
Early on Saturday (June 14th) Grohl and the rest of the band, who were unaware of the campaign, took to Twitter to confirm that the fans' aim has been reached as they have agreed to put on a show.

The campaign, which has garnered over $70,000 in fake tickets sales at this time, was launched in March Goldin, and it was able to raise enough money due to generous $5,000 donations from local businesses, and was aided by advertisements on local rock radio station XL102.

"Rather than waiting, and waiting and waiting for our favorite band to come to us, we're making it happen," Goldin said in his statement. "We're selling tix to a Foo Fighters concert that the band doesn't have scheduled yet in the hopes that they'll come to our great city and play a show. Then if the band comes we all rock out. If they don't come, everyone gets their money back. Every cent. So buy your tix, spread the word, and let's make some rock-n-roll history."
The venue and date for the concert has yet to be finalized.
