Foo Fighters return with a surprise new single entitled 'Run', accompanied by a hilarious, if not a little disturbing, video directed by their own lead singer. Details of their forthcoming ninth studio album are yet to be announced, but this marks their first new music in two years.
The video, directed by frontman Dave Grohl, is apparently set in a nursing home and stars actress Missi Pyle, who you may recognise for her small roles in the likes of 'Gone Girl', 'The Artist', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Big Fish'.
Missi plays one of the nurses in the video who is kind of reminiscent of Nurse Ratched from 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest', with Grohl and the other band members - Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee - all having been given an elderly makeover. They are still rocking out as a band the only way they know how, however. In fact, all the old people in this old people's home have gone totally wild to the sound of this heavy yet sensationally melodic rock anthem.
The new album will follow their 2014 release 'Sonic Highways', which reached number 2 in both the UK and US charts. The band later launched an EP entitled 'Saint Cecilia' in 2015, which was released for free download to all fans.
