The singer has also announced US tour dates.
Frank Turner is set to return with a brand new studio album later this summer, enticingly entitled 'Positive Songs For Negative People'. Plus, you can catch the London singer on tour in the States this Fall, with 31 tour dates newly announced.
Frank Turner to release 'Positive Songs For Negative People'
After the success of 2013's 'Tape Deck Heart', which reached number two in the UK album chart, Frank Turner will be embracing his folky-punk aesthetic yet again on 'Positive Songs For Negative People'. His sixth studio album, Turner recorded the collection over a period of nine days in a studio in Nashville with the legendary Butch Walker.
'Pretty much all of it is live', explained Turner, who took on the talents of his backing band The Sleeping Souls on the new record. 'The end result is everything I wanted it to be.'
And what exactly did Turner want it to be? Well, he admits that as time goes on, making albums can become a bit of a routine process and he was determined to capture some of the thrills of making a first record. 'I feel like this record is my definitive statement, a summation of the first five records', he said. 'When a band makes a debut record, there's a freshness and excitement to it that bands often lose as time goes by. I wanted to make a record with that young, exciting feel.'
Frank Turner will also be hitting the road in North America in September and October, with three dates already sold out at New York's Irving Plaza and Boston's House of Blues. You can also catch him at Riot Fest in Toronto on September 20th, and he will wrap up his tour at Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans on October 30th. Pre-orders of the new album come with instant downloads of two new songs: 'Get Better' and 'The Next Storm'.
'Positive Songs For Negative People' will be released on August 7th 2015 through Xtra Mile Recordings, Polydor UK and Interscope Records.
