British comedian Freddie Starr has been hospitalised after suffering a severe allergic reaction while competing on U.K. series I'm a celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
The funnyman fell ill after participating in a so-called ''greasy spoon'' challenge as part of the show, which is filmed in the Australian rainforest.
He was removed from the set and admitted to a hospital to undergo tests.
A spokesperson for the Itv network confirms, "Freddie Starr was taken unwell in the jungle. He was immediately attended to by on-site medics and taken to hospital where he was assessed by doctors.
"He will remain in hospital overnight as a precaution, and further tests continue. However, Freddie is in great spirits and keeping nursing staff entertained."
MCFly rocker Dougie Poynter, model/actress Lorraine Chase, former jockey Willie Carson and Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread are among the other stars competing in the programme.
