Review of Frightened Rabbit's album 'Midnight Organ Fight Live and Acoustic at the Captain's Rest'

There are a lot of bands out there that just like to bang out a live album just to make a quick buck, although Frightened Rabbit are releasing a Live album, it has to be said that they are doing it a different way. Not only is this a live album but it is in the exact same order as their album 'The Midnight Organ Fight' pure genius. How many people out there have wanted to hear a studio produced album, live from start to finish? Well that is what Frightened Rabbit are offering here.

There are some extraordinary talents coming from North of the border including The Twilight Sad who have James Graham appearing on the live acoustic album. These guys are definitely thinking outside of the box and it is refreshing to see and hear.

To do anything acoustic you have to be comfortable in your own abilities, but to do a whole live album that takes guts and courage, because at the end of the day this is where any imperfection will show. Any missed chords and any vocal imperfections are there on show, but for Frightened Rabbit this just adds to the whole experience, and going through this album is like an experience. It takes you onto a journey that you have already been on but for some reason the story of that journey has changed. This album emulates the rawness of Frightened Rabbit and you can see why they are one of the most sought-after live acts around at the moment.

The quality of the album has already been tested when released as a studio release, and if that was (like so many people) in your top ten albums of 2009 then you are just going to want to go out and get this. Curiosity will get the better of you in the end so you might as well give in to it sooner rather than later and get your copy of this truly timeless piece, and that is coming from someone who is not a big fan of the whole acoustic sound in general.
