The Lethal Weapon veteran and Toni Braxton's younger sister will join previously announced stars including Chaka Khan, Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, Honey, I'm Good hitmaker Andy Grammer, acting couple Carlos Pena, Jr. and his wife Alexa PenaVega, and Steve Irwin's environmentalist daughter Bindi to compete for the dancefloor trophy.

The full line-up was unveiled on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Wednesday (02Sep15), but Busey revealed his involvement during a surprise appearance on late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (01Sep15), when he made his grand entrance riding into the Los Angeles studio on a white horse.

He told the host, "I am so proud to be here with you. To announce this incredible, (life)-changing thing."

Busey then admitted he agreed to sign up for the TV competition because, "I didn't have anything else to do!".

Other new Dancing with the Stars contestants are reality TV personality Kim Zolciak, champion jockey Victor Espinoza, celebrity chef Paula Deen, Internet sensation Hayes Grier and U.S. soldier Alek Skarlatos, one of three men who helped to thwart a terrorist attack on a train in France last month (Aug15).

The new season of Dancing with the Stars premieres on 14 September (15).
