Gavin Degraw is in a "stable condition" after being attacked on Sunday (07.08.11).

The singer/songwriter suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face following an assault in New York, but despite suffering from concussion he is now in a better state.

A statement from his publicist read: "Gavin DeGraw is currently recovering and in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital where he was taken late Sunday night by ambulance after he was attacked by a group of assailants. He suffers from a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises. The police are conducting an investigation of the attack.

"Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time."

However, they could not give any more information about his forthcoming live dates.

The release added: "We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album."

After being attacked, the 34-year-old singer walked to 19th Street and 1st Avenue in the city where he was hit by a cab, although his injuries from the accident were not thought to be serious.
