Gemma Arterton is in line to star in a biopic about Jeff Buckley.

The 26-year-old actress - famed for her roles in 'Tamara Drew' and 'Quantum of Solace' - is in talks to play one of the women in the late rocker's life in forthcoming film, 'Mystery White Boy'.

Former Bond girl Gemma will portray one of the musician's party-loving flings, and Reeve Carey - who was the lead in Broadway's 'Spider-Man' musical - has already been confirmed for the role of Jeff, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.

British actor Harry Treadaway and Olivia Thirlby are also in the running for roles in the film, which has been adapted by Ryan Jaffe from David Browne's book, 'Dream Brother: The Lives And Music Of Jeff And Tim Buckley'.

Jeff tragically drowned in the Mississippi River in 1997 at the age of 30. His death was ruled as accidental.

The 'Hallelujah' singer's story has already been adapted for the big screen and 2012 will see the release of 'Greetings From Tim Buckley' starring 'Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley and Imogen Poots.

The film's soundtrack will be composed of the musical icon's two albums, 'Grace' and the posthumously released 'Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk'.
