Actor Geoffrey Rush was left red-faced at a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday (23Oct11) after failing to greet the British monarch.
Rush was among 48 notable Australians invited to meet the royal at an official reception held at Government House in Canberra to mark her 16th trip Down Under.
But Rush, who played her father's speech therapist in The King's Speech, managed to miss shaking the Queen's hand after entering the room and forgetting to say hello.
According to Britain's The Times, Rush was quick to correct his mistake by retracing his steps and returning to the sovereign and her husband Prince Philip to properly introduce himself.
