George Clooney says that he and wife Amal have imposed certain travel restrictions on themselves as they prepare to welcome twins.

Amal, 39, is a high-profile human rights lawyer and her husband has admitted that the couple previously found it “exciting” to visit dangerous places.

Speaking to French publication Paris Match, the actor said: “We decided to be much more responsible, to avoid the danger. I won't go to South Sudan any more or the Congo.

“Amal will no longer go to Iraq and she'll avoid places where she knows she isn't welcome. Before, I did not care, I would even say that there was a pretty exciting side to going where no reporter had ever been.”

Clooney also discussed where the couple will live once they become parents. “We have the chance to live between three countries: Italy, America and England,” he said.

“But as soon as the children go to school, it'll be necessary to choose where to settle. In the meantime, we will continue to move according to our respective schedules."

The couple’s twins are believed to be due and June, and they were previously thought to be expecting a boy and a girl, however the actor has dismissed the rumour.

“I don't know where this rumour comes from that we're going to have a boy and a girl,” Clooney said. "We ourselves don't know yet and don't want to know.”
