Buzz has already been relatively widespread about Disney's upcoming sci-fi 1952, and that buzz is about to get a whole lot louder after it emerged that George Clooney could very well end up as the star of the upcoming picture.
There's already cause for excitement with Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol & Ratatouille) already being the named director, however with no word on who would star in the upcoming project, some people have been sceptical of how the film might pan out, that is until now. Although nothing is official just yet, according to Variety it is believed that Clooney is in talks with Disney about starring in the film, and apparently the company is dead-set on getting him as the lead.
The script is being kept under wraps for now, however it is known that Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) and Jeff Jensen (also of Lost fame) will be taking care of the screenplay, only these two currently have any idea of what the film will entail.
Meanwhile, Clooney is gearing himself up for his next film, The Monuments Men, which he will star in and direct and follows him tracking artwork stolen by the Nazis alongside the likes of Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin and Cate Blanchett.
