Country music legend George Jones died of Hypoxic Respiratory Failure (Hrf), according to a new medical report.

The Door hitmaker passed away on Friday (26Apr13) at the age of 81 in Nashville, Tennessee.

His symptoms included a fever and irregular blood pressure, and now doctors have listed his official cause of death as Hrf, which occurs when body tissue lacks enough oxygen to function at a normal level, according to MedicalDaily.com.

The singer will be remembered by fans, friends and family during a public funeral at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on 3 May (13).
