Fact: Self-confessed Star Trek fanatic Mira Sorvino was left starstruck on Thursday (14Aug14) after a surprise meeting with veteran franchise star George Takei. The actors were both guests on U.S. breakfast show Today, and Takei was brought out from backstage to greet Sorvino after she showed off her sci-fi knowledge of the cult series.

Singers Debbie Gibson, Aubrey O’ Day, and Clay Aiken are among those remaining and vying for the first place prize. Takei did impress someone during his stint as a vendor on the show - he has been hired by TV host Ellen DeGeneres to help sell merchandise on her daytime show.
