Girls Aloud Split After Last Night Of Tour, Tweet Confirms

Girls Aloud Cheryl Cole

Any fans looking towards a new Girls Aloud album and a few more years of girl band action will be disappointed, as the band cut their reunion short straight after their U.K tour.

A Twitter message from the band read: "We have now come to the end of our incredible time together" as soon as they came off stage in Liverpool – the last date of the tour. Another Twitter message said: "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade.” The band, who were formed on Popstars: The Rivals got back together for 12-date UK tour after three years of solo projects, or for some members of the band, silence. “It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots," they added.

Cheryl Cole Dubs Stories Linking Her To Ashley Cole "Lazy And Boring"

Cheryl Cole Ashley Cole Girls Aloud

Cheryl Cole and Ashley Cole got divorced three years ago, but still newspapers and other media outlets will never let her forget about their marriage. Despite having had boyfriends since, as soon as a story comes to light about him she is dragged into it to. The latest story refers to a model who frequents the Playboy Mansion having a very secret fling with the footballer.

Melissa Howe, now aged 22 but just 19 at the time of the affair, of sorts, told of how she and Ashley had some kind of romance during a period that there were rumours he would be reuniting with Cheryl. Apparently Miss Howe was told to keep it all very, very secret. They met on a night out in London, at which point Howe refused to go home with him despite strong suggestions by his bouncer. Later he kept in touch with her and had his driver pick her up from her mother's house and bring her to his Godalming mansion. He did the same repeatedly but she was told to keep it all very, very quiet.

Now that this story has come to light Cheryl is neither annoyed nor upset about the story itself, rather she's just fed up of being linked to him constantly.

Girl Aloud Deny Talks Over Their Eurovision Entry

Girls Aloud Cheryl Cole

Earlier this week is was rumoured that the newly reformed Girls Aloud would be 'doing a Blue' and representing the United Kingdom in this years Eurovision Song Contest. However, a rep for the girl group has now come forward to deny these rumours via Twitter.

Yesterday (Jan 18), the band's PR company Supersonic took to their Twitter page to refute the claims that the girls would be heading to Malmo, Sweden for this year's contest saying that "The story isn't true," before adding that the claims are "So ridiculous."

Girls Aloud reunited in time for their 10th anniversary last November, having spent the three years prior to their reunion concentrating on solo projects both in and outside of music. They ushered in their reunion with a collection of their greatest hits, but wont be following up their successful return with an appearance on the continent at this year's Eurovision, begging the question: who will be performing for team GB this year?

"It's A Definite No," Cheryl Cole Rules Out X Factor Return

Cheryl Cole Girls Aloud Simon Cowell Nicole Scherzinger Louis Walsh

Cheryl Cole has ruled out a return to the X Factor UK, telling television host Graham Norton "It's a definite no." The Girls Aloud star is reportedly suing the U.S. version of the show claiming they broke her contract following her sacking last year, though speculation suggested she would return to the UK panel as head-judge.

With the future of Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow in doubt, many fans of the show assumed Cole would join Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh on the panel for 2013, though the girl band star has put an end to the rumours. Cole released her autobiography two months ago, though claims none of her Girls Aloud band mates have read it. "They don't need to [read it] as they were there. People think there was a three year break but we still socialised on a weekly basis. It's not like we didn't see each other for three years."

Despite Cheryl's denial, the bookmakers still have her at 8/1 to judge on the show next year, though Simon Cowell is the odds-on 8/11 favourite to be the newest addition to the panel. Mel B and Sharon Osbourne are also short odds to return to the judging line-up.

Simon Cowell Sued By Cheryl Cole For Sudden Firing

Cheryl Cole Simon Cowell Britney Spears Nicole Scherzinger Girls Aloud

Drama has erupted between Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole after the singer’s sacking from the US X Factor.

The former Girls Aloud singer was taken off the show in May, after filming just two audition episodes, allegedly because American audiences could not keep up with her Geordie accent. The incident seemed to have blown over, with two judges having taken Cheryl’s place on the show after her departure. However, now it looks like it won’t all be smooth sailing for Simon Cowell. Cole has filed a claim with Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that according to her contract, she is entitled to the money for the show’s second season, as well as a sizeable list of perks. The star wants reimbursement for the cost of bodyguards, flights to LA, as well as wardrobe and stylists for the show, among other things.

Simon Cowell’s legal representatives, on the other hand, maintain that Cole has already been overcompensated, having been paid for a full season of appearances on X Factor, despite only doing two episodes. With the legal proceedings in full swing, it looks like Simon and Cheryl’s personal relationship has been under strain. Both of the stars have a lot on the line with this case. Cowell has taken personal responsibility for the firing and, according to some sources, “could be deposed” if the case goes wrong. Alternatively, if Cole loses, she will be faced with a mountain of legal fees”. Cheryl has allegedly been offered to return to the show, after falling ratings since her departure.

Fit For A Queen? Royal Variety Features One Direction, David Walliams And Washing Machines

It's that time of year again people. The Royal Variety Performance was taped on Monday evening (November 19, 2012) and featured a whole host of entertainment stars taking to the stage at London's Albert Hall in front of one very special guest. This year, the Queen witnessed performances from the likes of One Direction, Girls Aloud and Katherine Jenkins, reports the Daily Mirror.

Fresh from their stateside success, the 1D boys were back in London  to perform new single 'Little Things', though we're not sure how it went down with her majesty. David Walliams' skit afterwards probably confused her even more; the Little Britain star bounding on-stage in a wig and red cardigan while pretending to be a stalker. "I've got a washing machine and I named it One Direction. You make me so happy," he yelled in a high pitched voice. "Was your song What Makes You Beautiful written about me? I love you so much. Will you marry me?" The group turned down his proposal before he approached heartthrob Harry Styles to ask him to "take a photo" of him with the rest of the boys. Walliams, 41, hosted the evening with Amanda Holden also on-hand to introduce some of the acts.

Elsewhere, a reunited Girls Aloud took to the stage to perform 'The Promise' and Cheryl Cole spoke of meeting the Queen afterwards. "The Queen is so delicate. She has hair like Candy floss and tiny dancing style shoes, awww. Another highlight was Alicia Keys, such an incredibly talented and down to earth woman," she said. The 100th anniversary of the Royal Variety Performance will air on ITV on December 3, also featuring performances from Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams and Neil Diamond.

Girls Aloud Are Back, Orange You Glad?

Donning matching bright orange dresses, the five girls of Girls Aloud took to the stage at the BBC's Children In Need show last night (16th Nov. 2012), marking their first performance of their reunion.

The band that was first created on Pop Idol back in 2002, performed their newest single, aptly titled 'Something New', and performed a dance routine that was a bit of a watered down version of the video. Nadine Coyle, having been asked how it felt to be back on stage, said "That was nerve-wracking! Was that a mistake I made there? Was I supposed to walk forward? All those nervous things!" according to the Mirror. Kimberly Walsh added that "[They]'ve all fallen back into our roles it's as if nothing ever changed. It really does just feel so good to be here."

Nadine, Kimberly, Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts have all been pursuing solo careers since going on hiatus in 2009, but have chosen to reform to mark 10 years in the making. Past hits include 'Sound of the Underground', 'Love Machine' and 'Something Kinda Oooh'. Their new single is out on Sunday (18th Nov. 2012) and the album, titled Ten will be released next week, on November 26th.

One Direction Set To Perform At The Royal Variety Performance 2012

One Direction fans, unite! Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will be performing at The Royal Variety Performance 2012, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, Entertainmentwise reports.

We're not sure how much of a One Directioner The Queen is, and we can't see her pulling shapes to the boy band's biggest hits, but they're a polite bunch, and if nothing else, they'll charm the bloomers off the Monarchy. The show is not just varied by name; oldies Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond will join the young pop stars, as well as R&B giant, Alicia Keys, seasoned hitmakers Girls Aloud and Robbie Williams, and not to mention Kylie Minogue. The show will be hosted by David Walliams - which makes it a must-watch show in itself - and will, of course, also feature Britain's Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey. The show, while being a huge treat for the audience, is set to raise funds for the Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund.

The Queen will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh for the 100th anniversary of the event at the Royal Albert Hall on 19 November, as they look upon the stars who are aiming to maintain the retirement and nursing home in Twickenham, London.

Girls Aloud Add Another Date At The O2 To Their Comeback Schedule

Girls Aloud

Newly rekindled Girls Aloud are set to return to the stage for the first time since 2008, when they kick off their comeback tour next year, and the demand for their shows is so large that a new stop off in London has been added to the schedule.

The comeback Queens will kick off their tour at Newcastle’s Metro Arena on 21 February 2013 for two back to back shows, before gradually zigzagging their way across the country until it grinds to a halt on 20 March 2013 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. Whilst it seemed that the original schedule was as all-encompassing as necessary, the girls have now been forced to pencil in yet another show at London’s O2 Arena. The new show will follow the originally planned performances on the 1 and 2 March 2013, and will take place on the 3rd.

The five ladies, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh have all pledged to join forces once again and not only have a new tour in the pipeline, but also a new compilation of hits to celebrate their reunion and tenth anniversary. The new album, Ten, will be released on 26 November 2012, whilst tickets for the 2013 shows are already on sale, so move fast if you don’t want to miss out.

Girls Aloud fans across the country have been delighted by the revelation that Girls Aloud will be reuniting for a tenth anniversary album and tour. The album will be aptly titled 'Ten' which will be released on November 26th 2012, and will be followed by a 12 date tour in 2013.

It was exactly ten years ago today (19th Oct 2012) that the multi-platinum selling girl band first appeared on the original reality talent TV show Popstars: The Rivals, which pitted a girlband against a boyband in the race to Christmas number 1. Girls Aloud won, marking the first of many successes.

The greatest hits album will include four new songs, including the new Children in Need song 'Something New', plus there'll be the possibility to get a deluxe edition with extra features as well. Reported by the BBC Cheryl Cole said "We're really excited. It feels like nothing has changed."

Girls Aloud are set to reunite for a tour next year following the upcoming release of their comeback/10 year anniversary album 'Ten'.

The girl band have been on a three year long hiatus since 2009, with their last performance taking place on September 18th 2009 at Wembley Stadium where they were supporting Coldplay on their tour. Something Old, Something New: Girls Aloud Announce Greatest Hits And 2013 Tour

Girls Aloud Cheryl Cole Nadine Coyle Sarah Harding Nicola Roberts Kimberley Walsh

Girls Aloud have finally unveiled their reunion plans. The girl group, famous for hits such as ‘Sound of the Underground’ and ‘Something Kinda Oooh’ will be releasing a greatest hits album on November 26 and will be following up the album release with a world tour in 2013. Cheryl Cole, who went on to have the most successful solo career, of the five girls (as well as a stint as an X Factor judge) said, at a press conference “We're really excited. It feels like nothing has changed,” BBC reports.

The news arrived in a timely fashion; the announcement was made ten years to the day that the girls first appeared on the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals. Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh were selected to form a girl group and were then pitted against a boy band, One True Voice, in a talent contest. Their debut single, Sound of the `Underground, became a number one hit in the UK – the first of 20 consecutive top 10 singles between 2002 and 2009. One True Voice, on the other hand, split up after just two single releases. “It’s worked out really nicely that it’s our tenth anniversary year” said Nicola Roberts.

Girls Aloud will be releasing a new single ‘Something New,’ on November 18, 2012. Fans who pre-order the album this weekend will be given a chance to buy concert tickets for next year’s tour before they go on public sale.

Will Strictly Come Dancing Appearance Launch Girls Aloud Reunion?

Girls Aloud Nicola Roberts Cheryl Cole

The Girls Aloud reunion is on, and it’ll be marked by a special performance on Strictly Come Dancing by the girls, reports The Mirror.

Three long years after their last live performance, and the Girls Aloud website creaks back to life, displaying a counter which, if everyone’s done their maths right, should see the comeback land on October 19, 2012, which has fuelled speculation that their much anticipated reunion will be marked with a performance on BBC dancing competition, Strictly Come Dancing. Nicola Roberts first let the gossip slip in August whilst speaking to This Morning. She said: "It's our 10th birthday in November so we will definitely celebrating." Adding: "I wanna tell you everything but I really can't!" Well that wasn’t exactly cryptic, was it, Nicola? Now an official Girls Aloud Twitter account, whose only tweet has been ‘TEN’, which has since been re-tweeted by all five band members, has all but confirmed the reunification of the popular girl group.

We don’t think many of you will argue when we say that Cheryl Cole has been the most prominent member of the group; the Newcastle born singer has enjoyed a solo career in the Girl Aloud hiatus, judging on The X-Factor, crashing cars with Will.i.am and writing a new book, Cheryl: My Story, which will be out this Thursday, October 11.

Girls Aloud To Snub Simon Cowell In Favour Of 'Strictly' Return

Girls Aloud Cheryl Cole Nicola Roberts Nadine Coyle Sarah Harding Kimberley Walsh Simon Cowell

Despite rumours of infighting, Cheryl Cole’s continuing success and Kimberly Walsh’s stage ambitions, Girls Aloud are confirmed to be returning with new material and a nationwide tour. Now, it has emerged that Cheryl’s forthcoming appearance on Strictly Come Dancing will be anything but a solo performance.

According to insiders, the pop superstar will be joined by band-mates Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and current Strictly contestant Kimberly Walsh. “It's an amazing slap in the face for Simon Cowell and proves that Cheryl really wants Strictly to beat her old show,” an insider privy to the deal told the Daily Star. Though the media appear set on reporting a Cole versus X Factor feud (Cowell famously sacked her from the U.S version of the show), it didn’t stop the Geordie singer from signing up as Gary Barlow’s sidekick for the ITV show. Nevertheless, it seems the girl-group have decided on the BBC as the stage for their return and it’s likely they will sing live on the show in November (when Cole was initially pencilled in to perform her single Screw You). Kimberly may well still be in contention for the Strictly crown by then; currently she’s the second favourite with the bookies at 10-3. British athlete Louis Smith remains the favourite at 9-4.

Kimberley, Nicola and Cheryl were photographed together at the Whisky Mist nightclub in London on Sunday evening (Oct 7, 2012), following the latter’s solo show at the O2 arena.

Cheryl Cole’s Boyfriend Doubles As Champagne Waiter At Belfast Gig

Cheryl Cole Girls Aloud Nicola Roberts Kimberley Walsh Sarah Harding

Cheryl Cole’s boyfriend Tre Holloway was supposed to be one of the star dancers in her new shows. When he injured his knee on a trampoline, though, he was forced to pull out of the shows. Determined to support Cheryl, regardless, he could be found handing out drinks backstage instead. Tre was seen hobbling around at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena, where he was dishing out Bollinger champagne and coffee-flavoured tequila. It looks as though he may be trying to get himself back into Cheryl’s good books, after she expressly told him not to go on the trampoline in the first place, The Mirror reports. Tre should be returning to Cheryl Cole’s A Million Lights Tour before long, though.

Luckily for the former Girls Aloud singer, her show went well, even without her favourite dancer onstage with her. Though it wasn’t all plain sailing, as she suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction part way through the set: “I split my trousers,” she told The Mirror. “There’ll no doubt be some scenes on YouTube... I had to safety pin them.” And one girl tried to pull her hair, as she walked into the crowd – much to her dismay: “I was, like, ‘you’re supposed to be a fan!’” exclaimed Cheryl.

Apparently, Cheryl’s particularly looking forward to the two-night homecoming gigs in Newcastle. When she plays the O2 Arena in London on Sunday (October 7, 2012), she’s expecting to meet up with her old Girls Aloud pals, Nicola Roberts, Kimberly Walsh and Sarah Harding – though they’re not expected to be joining her onstage this time, more’s the pity. A Girls Aloud reunion is in the pipeline though, she reassured us: “we’re gonna do something later, so this wasn’t really the time.”

Nadine 'Dumped Jesse Over Jealous Rages'

Girls Aloud Aloud Desperate Housewives

Rumours are circulating that Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle dumped Desperate Housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe because of his jealous nature.

The news comes just days after Jesse, most famous for playing the gardener of Gabrielle Solis in the hit series, was spotted out around Los Angeles holding hands with a mysterious brunette. It was thought that a split was imminent due to cheating on Jesse's part, according to some close to the couple.

However it is now rumoured that Jesse, who has recently spent time in rehab for alcohol issues, has been badly bitten by the green-eyed monster and is even jealous of Nadine's fame and successful pop career.

"Nadine dumped Jesse because he's a complete control freak. She was fed up of his jealous rages and after thinking about it long and hard decided to get rid of him," a source close to the couple told the News of the World today.

The pair has been long-distance dating since a chance meeting in Australia in February 2006 but busy work schedules and trans-Atlantic flights have been reportedly putting strain on their relationship.

"She really loved Jesse, but his rages got worse. He would cause huge rows and Nadine would back down, trying to make a joke of it at first."

Yet it seems the romance has gone from the pair, according to the mystery source. "It was constant and in the end drove a wedge between them," they added.
