Girls' new single 'Honey Bunny' was released on August 23rd 2011, through True Panther Sounds. It is the second single off their second album, 'Father, Son, Holy Ghost', which was released on September 13th 2011. It follows on from their last single, 'Vomit', which was released in July 2011.
The sunny looking video was directed by Ivan Shumaker and Chet JR White. It sees the lead singer, Christopher Owens, picking up a girl on the street and taking her to a forest, where the rest of the band is performing. Throughout the video Christopher sings the catchy yet self-deprecating lyrics, much to the amusement of his blonde female companion.
There are only two members in Girls: the aforementioned Christopher and Chet JR White, who formed the band in 2007. They made headlines with their controversial video for 'Lust For Life', which featured male nudity. Lust For Life was the second single off their debut album, which was wittily called 'Album', released in 2009 to very positive reviews.
In between the acclaimed albums Album and Father, Son, Holy Ghost, Girls released an EP entitled 'Broken Dreams Club' in 2010, which also garnered favourable reviews.
