It’s time to get your Gleek on, folks. The cheesy musical TV show Glee will be returning for at least another two series, according to E! Online. The Fox network have reportedly confirmed that seasons five and six will definitely be happening, meaning that Glee fans will get their fill of musical theatre until 2015. Oh joy!

Ryan Murphy’s show has been a huge hit since its inception and its fourth season has averaged 8.7 million viewers, with a 3.6 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic. In a statement, Murphy said “I am very grateful to Kevin [Reilly], Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] for their incredible support of this series from the beginning," Murphy said in a statement. "But I also want to thank our loyal audience, whose passion and enthusiasm continue to amaze and inspire us.” Kevin Reilly, president of the Fox network commented on the success of the show, saying “Glee debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture.”

The closing episode of season four will come on May 9, 2013. Two Hollywood legends are rumored to be appearing on the final show – Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter – playing the roles of a couple that have been together for 25 years.
