Green Day are set to support their upcoming album 'Revolution Radio' with a 12-date tour of intimate club shows in the US and Canada this Fall. The short local run will be followed by their Winter European tour where they will be joined by The Interrupters.

Green DayGreen Day to release 'Revolution Radio' in October

The North American tour will open in St. Louis, Missouri on September 20th at The Pageant and will close at the UC Theatre in Berkeley California on October 20th. Pre-sale tickets are on sale today (September 7th 2016), with the general sale starting on Friday (September 9th). It's their first tour since the 99 Revolutions Tour which kicked off in 2013, though their last show was in April 2015 ahead of their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

They'll be back in the stadiums and arenas come January 2017 though, where they'll travel to Europe to spread the love in the likes of Italy, Germany and the UK with LA ska-punk band The Interrupters in support. They have also been confirmed to play two June festivals in Germany; Hurricane Festival and Southside.

'Revolution Radio' is currently available to pre-order, with all orders coming with a free immediate download of lead single 'Bang Bang'. The track - an angst-laden and relevant number about mass shooting - peaked at number 1 on the US Mainstream Rock chart and also debuted at the top of the UK Rock Chart.

The album marks their first full-length venture since their 2012 trilogy '¡Uno!; ¡Dos!; ¡Tré!'. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong spoke about his twelfth studio album to Rolling Stone. 'This time I just wanted to feel the freedom of just depending on ourselves and getting in a room', he said. 'There's no in-between person, and we're forced to sort of be in there with each other.'

'Revolution Radio' is set for release on October 7th 2016 through Reprise Records.
