Grouplove (Formed 2009)
Grouplove is an American indie rock band, consisting of the members Hannah Hooper (vocals, keyboards), Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Sean Gadd (bass, vocals), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals), and Ryan Rabin (drums).
They are better known for their songs, "Tongue Tied" and "Ways To Go".
Formation: All five members were friends prior to the band.
Hooper met Zucconi in Manhattan because she enjoyed his music.
Hooper invited Zucconi to an artist residency in Crete, despite having only just met.
He joined her, and there they met the rest of the band.
Rabin was an accomplished drummer and producer, and had grown up in LA with Wessen, and surfer and guitarist.
Rabin's father was Trevor Rabin of 'Yes'.
Gadd was an English songwriter and guitarist.
Music Career: In 2010, the band went on tour with Florence And The Machine on the west coast, and later with The Joy Formidable on the east coast.
Nylon Magazine named the group as one of the "Best New Bands of 2010".
They signed to Atlantic Records, and released their self-titled EP on January 25th, 2011.
They co-headlined a cross-country tour in 2011, with Foster The People, performing at Reading & Leeds Festival, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and more.
On September 13th, 2011, the band released their album "Never Trust a Happy Song".
They went on a North American tour to support it, also performing with Two Door Cinema Club.
They kicked off their tour in Australia on January 3rd, 2012, and went on to perform in Europe.
Throughout their sold-out headline tour, they performed at Sasquatch! Music Festival, Coachella, and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
They started their "Close Your Eyes and Count To Tour" tour on September 25th 2012.
They travelled across the US with Alt-J and MS MR.
"Spreading Rumours" was the band's second album, and was released on September 17th, 2013.
On the same day, they performed at a sold-out show in West Hollywood, supporting the Australian band 'The Rubens'.
They set off to do their 18 show tour across the US, supported by The Rubens.
The group started touring with Daniel Gleason in 2013.
This was to allow band member Gadd to do other work.
Gleason also toured with the band on their 2014 US tour, which was supported by MS MR, and their European tour which was supported by Femme.
In 2014, Gadd regretfully left the band.
Throughout 2014, the band played at many festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Firefly, and Coachella.
